    Peek's gear!

I've opened this thread to avoid clogging up the Pic of the Day thread and as I'm not sure whether "flogging" stuff on the Forum is OK

So far I've sold some Minolta and all of my Bronics SQ stuff apart from two lenses; 80mm standard and 50mm wide angle Zenzannon-S Primes.

    Next up on eBay will be;
    Minolta AF Zooms: ◊ 35-70mm f4 ◊ 35-105mm f3.5/4.5 RS ◊ 100-200mm f4.5 ◊ 70-210mm Beercan.
    Minolta AF Primes ◊ 24mm f2.8 ◊ 50mm f1.7 ◊ 50mm Macro.

I've not made my mind up about the MC/MD stuff until the adapter arrives from the Far East so I can try them on the A700.
I know, I know, I've got a lot of stuff, but remember It's been accumulating for 30-odd years.

    What I'm keeping is the ◊ KM 17-35mm f2.8/4 D ◊ 28-135mm f4/4.5 ◊ and I'm adding the Sony 70-300mm f4.5-5.6 G SSM
    (I just missed a second hand 17-35 G.)
With what I sold already I've replaced my ageing Manfrotto #055 Tripod and Monopods with their Carbon Fibre equivelents (less weight for an old fogey).

When I've completed the mission my "Sig" will be less embarassingly large.

I'd be happy to sell to the forum. I'm about to put a new front element in the Beercan and it might be a week or two before it's done.

The last two that were sold in the UK went for $100. I've no idea how that compares to US prices but I think they tend to be less than UK; you'd need to make an offer I suppose.
What I can say is that this lens is absolute Mint. I've had it from new and there's not a mark on it. Maybe I should post some pictures.

Insured Airmail to the US is about $18 for 500gms and $25 for 1kg. Vat is not applicable on personal stuff.

How about that 24mm. I've got a feeling I may just go with a 28mm b/c they run so much cheaper, but it's worth asking.

In the last four months there have been 13x 28mm lenses and only 2x 35mm on eBay. The average selling price for the 28mm was 73($104) although the average over the last month is 91($130) as prices creep up because of the A900. I got 87($124)for mine so I was happy, as was the buyer. Sony prices the 28mm at 189 so I suppose the price I got was about right. The 28's a good choice because at 42mm (APS-C) it's closer to Standard.

The two 24mm's sold for 100($143) and 138($197). These prices reflect the fact that Sony only have a more expensive 20mm and super expensive 35mm G.

Again I bought the lens new so it's practically unmarked and optically and mechanically sound.

Peek, do you use the 35-70mm F4 much since you have the 28-135mm?
once i get mine, i may consider getting rid of my 35-70mm F4 as well but not sure if it is the right thing to do!

I think dealing with members in the forum is great, and exchange of advice and info here is fine but maybe when we get to making deals and price offers it should go by private message? not sure what the mods and or admin. feels about a 'open marketplace' in the threads.
Peek you have and have used both, what are the pros / cons and advantages between the 24 and 28 primes?

Selling on the forums is strictly verbotten. Jeff has no problem slapping a good ol' warning on you, if you do. A couple of those ... and you are "Gone-City!"

Remember: It is usually the GLASS, not the camera (except for moving to Full Frame), that gives you the most improvement in your photography.

Hardly ever use it at all. The only thing it has going for it against the 28-135mm is weight.

I have the 35-70 f4, and it hasn't been on the camera at all since I picked up a 28-85mm. It will probably stay around because it's not really worth enough to sell, and it sorta has sentimental value as the first half-way decent lens on my camera.

A big benefit is that it is small and light, and a good portrait range on APS. It also seems like it might come in handy if I pick up the 17-50, and then have a gap from 50-70.

Some folks may not have noticed the "Private Messages" link in the top right hand corner of the forums panel. This is a good way to handle things that don't need to clutter things up for everyone, including doing business, but other things as well.
