A Few Snow Images
Here are a few Images I took from our first snow fall of the year.

I wish I were this unfamiliar with snow, Frank. You lucky guy, you!
We got "Lake Effect", overnight, and it really played havoc with the road systems. Worst part is ... we can't get a warm trend going long enough to melt some this off. That is a little unusual for the Chicago area.
Your images do depict the surprise and astonished nature of your snowfall. The series is very "cool" ... and you should try and add to it. You should redo the horizon on image #1. Thanks for sharing.

Look, I did not create the optical laws of the Universe ... I simply learned to deal with them.
Remember: It is usually the GLASS, not the camera (except for moving to Full Frame), that gives you the most improvement in your photography.

Still can't get them level.
Thanks

A level playing field ...
Does this help?

I think the distant treeline seems to, unfortunately, exaggerate the issue.

I like those images, some good stuff there. In NC we are getting the first accumulated snow of the season.

My mother in law actually shot this (with my camera) but I had to post it.

And my mother and law and wife had this weird idea to make it look like Eleanor made a snow angel. Of course we made it with our hands and put her in the negative space. The brown suit she is wearing is entirely too big, and her feet are actually where it looks like the legs should start.

And the only one that I'm even a little happy with that wasn't just a snapshot, besides the one of Milo I put in photo of the day

Off skiing this weekend, some random backcountry in VT with my SD800.

man as much as I dislike the snow, well not the snow really, but the cold, and it has been COLD!!! This almsot makes me want to take the camera out and shoot some snow. Maybe go with my daughter and her friends next time they go snow boarding during the day, they mostly go at night under the lights, that just sounds like a nightmare to shoot. Oh and good pics guys!
