When you go in, there's probably a supply of earplugs available. Take some with you just in case. Believe me, you'll still be able to hear the music, in fact, you probably will enjoy it more.

Yea its a give and take kind of thing, I get to see some great shows, get to be backstage etc. i get pass sheets, and day of show sheets a guitar pic here and there some strings now and then, and sometimes even the guys in the bands chit chat, not to often as they really are on a pretty tight schedule. I have seen lots of shows from 'the pit, or from backstage so thats really cool. I have actualy met other then in just passing Elton John, Ronnie Wood, Sting, Neil Young, Ronnie James Dio, Tony Iomi, Ian Anderson, and other lesser known people.

take your own ear plugs, most places sell them for like $1.00 a pair!! bring your own, I suggest a noise rating of at least 28, I tend to wear 32's if working or even as a fan, clears up the distortion and the roar so you can hear clearer. If I am going to be in the pit and standing infront of the stacks, or I know it is going to be a LOUD show I wear a head set, but not as a fan it's just to dorky if your not working LOL.

    Wow.

Music is still my first love. The most incredible feeling in my life (beyond getting married, having a baby, etc) was playing on stage. As a guitarist and a rock fan I'd love to get to meet some of those people.

Photography was an interest since taking painting classes in high school, wishing I was taking photography instead. The problem with music for me is that I enjoy playing in a band much more than alone, and it's just so hard to get a group of musicians together. Conflicting work schedule, lugging equipment around, not to mention the fact that musicians tend to be very unreliable.

I love the life, as a part time thing. I have done some long days, and nights, a few weekend shows, a couple of short road trips, and 4 different shows in 5 days once, and that is plenty, one time it would be really cool, but the road for a major tour, 4 - 5 months without a break longer then a couple of days, major world tour by a major act - 16 - 18 months! it is kind of interesting to see lots of different kinds of bands music and shows, some good, some intersting, some wellllllllll not for me LOL. I've done new bands, old time bands, punk rock, death metal, rap gansta rap hip hop country wwe/wwf/ecw wrestling "talk about a production" lol. arena football, and the strangest, most bizzare, and amazingly intersting show - cirque de soeli! If you every have a chance to go do it!!

Yep I'll be going to the Dallas show. And what a list! I can't wait. I saw Van Halen last January and I think this will complete my seeing of my favorite old school rock bands.

Hi been off a few days. O.K. almost every large show at a large hall / arena has the satnding policy of NO cameras or recording devices permitted. But the security on the doors can't check everyone for everything. Don't be obvious with it, put it under your shirt or jacket. Security is going to look for whats in your pockets, around your waist band. if you have a hooded sweat shirt on, or a big loose shirt they will have you lift it up. Cleveland they were 'wanding' hand held metal detectors, but only lightly and quick. do NOT know if they will do so in Dallas. Have your ticket out in hand, anything else like cell phone, large key rings, ciggerette packs out in your hands as you go in. avoid chains studs spikes things like that, no bottles cans and so on. this will help you move quicker through the line. if you can stand in the middle of a group of people. If they find camera and say no, try the what if I dump the batteries out, have a spare set somewhere else with you, or with someone else with you. if that doesnt work they will just tell you to take it back to your car. If you get in with it, low profile, don't attract attention to your self, try and avoid flash, watch for security watching you. have fun, be cool, let me know if you have any other questions, and tell me how the show is!! write here or email me here.
