Yay or Nay - Take the camera to AC/DC concert?

I am going to an AC/DC show in a week or two, and I'm wondering if it would be worth it (more like worth the risk) to get some decent pictures. I'll be on the floor, so I think it might be harder than if I were up a few rows. What do you guys think?

I'm not sure I would take an expensive piece of equipment like that to a rock show. May want to go without it and be able to relax. Or if you want to take pics of Bryan and the boys bad enough then the potential reward will exceed the potential risk.

Just depends on how bad you want good shots vs. being able to relax and enjoy the music.

Unless you are sitting in the front row I don't thing you will be able to get any decent images due to the lens you have and the reach of a flash.

I'm with Sonynut and dr4agon, bring a cheap P&S. But I don't know if they will even let you bring that in. The DSLR will certainly be harder to get in, but I know they used to be very strict about any video or audio recording devices at concerts, which most P&S can do now.

Although with camera phones that is becoming a very losing battle for the venue owners.

I bet AC/DC will put on a killer show, I've always been a fan, and they are great in concert from the videos I have seen.

Guys in my other life my part time job is tour security, we just did ac/dc last week in Cleveland Ohio, if your a fan it is a hell of a show, great mix of songs, and a awesome stage set up and show! some really cool pyro and a HUGE digital screen that splits from one into 2 screens. You could get some good shots off the screens, and from the brightness of the pyro blasts with strobes 'white out' the arena a few times. depending where you are at the stage has a 'ego ramp' or a runway from center stage to the center of the floor, a small round stage there on hydralics that lifts Angus up about 20 feet in the air. So some good shots there. Now the bad news, it's a pretty wild show, the floor is seated but still the crowd is "into it' risk getting bumped pushed, people falling against you, beer showers, all not good for camera. If house security and 'doors' are doing there job you will NOT be going in with that camera as it is considered 'pro gear' if you do get it in tour security is going to pick up on you on the floor and you or your camera will be removed. Take a P&S and try to avoid flash, it doesn't really do any good, and what it does is attract security. If you are a few rows back from a barricade and not on the end of a aisle the better, We don't make a habit of going out 'into' the crowd after P&S shooters unless they are being really annoying or causing a problem. be low key doors may not let you take camera in, or may tell you to throw the batteries away. any questions feel free to ask I will try and answer the best I can.

A bit off topic here sorry, but I have been to and worked a few ac/dc shows other then the Back In Black tour in 1980 this was the best I have seen ac/dc, It was killing me not to have a camera LOL I worked in the 'underworld' underneath the stage and stage ramp on stage left where the stage manager and the lead guitar and bass techs are set up and the stairs the band comes on and off from. So I was right there with them and no photos LOL oh well. The opener isn't half bad, a band called the answer from Belfast Northern Ireland, make sure you in your seat the ac/dc opening is awesome, let me know what you think. Huge pyro display during TNT, giant inflatable prostitute during whole lotta rosie, Strip tease by Angus, elevated center stage, 'firing' cannons during for those about to rock.
