Hi,

Does anyone have a good recomendation for a "QUALITY" compact wide angle/telephoto lens I could use on the Nikkon D90 body that I can manually zoom from say 28 mm to over 400 mm? All the while focusing would be done by the cameras electronics. I wish to buy only one lens so I dont have to keep switching optics.

I have been working with an older Panasonic DMC FZ50 camera which has the single wide angle/long zoom lens. Basically this is a 10 megapixle 12X point and shoot camera which has a small sensor and lot of noise past ISO 100.

I would like to step up to a much better SLR camera and camera sensor and a similar wide angle/telephoto single lens.

All recomendations considered.

Thanks, Tom
