Recommended/Top Nikkor lenses
Okay as the end is near and all is dire (credit crunch, global economy meltdown, etc ) and Nikon has taken it upon themselves to over inflate their prices to ensure slower sales of gear, I wanted to see if people could recommend their Top 5 Nikkor lenses they would recommend buying incase people were after any last second deals before time ran out..
Obviously Nikkor 50mm f1.4 I expect to be listed, but others? (Not talking $5000+ lenses though). So please list your favourites!!

For DX:
* / 17-55 / 70-200VR / 18-200VR
For FX:
14-24 / 24-70 / 70-200VR / 85 1.4 / 50 1.4
* 12-24 but Tokina as the Nikon-peer doesn´t deliver what the pricetag suggests.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the 70-300 VR, or is DPR the only one with it and is a fan?

I assumed that this was a sort of dream list thing.
I'd take the 70-200VR over the 70-300VR if the option was there but that doesn't mean that I would not take a 70-300VR if it somehow fell off a truck or I went into the local mass market retailer and they had accidentally marked it at $199 or something stupid like that.
