    Oh, the weather outside is frightful...

    But my new camera is so delightful.







    Just received this today along with a Tiffen UV filter, and a 2GB Lexar Platinum II compact flash card. Battery is charging as we speak.

    Perhaps you already know, but I just discovered it after 6 months, the kit lens has a hood. Unscrew the front end and flip it upside down and presto, a lens hood to reduce flare!


    And yes, outside is very frightful....

    Dragon - Yep, in fact that was the first thing I noticed. A little small but nifty none-the-less.

    Can't wait to mess around tonight and tomorrow. I'll post up some shots if any are worthy.

    Not bad, looks like your having fun,good to see we are having a good mix of 100's 300' s 350's and A700's here, anyone with a a200? that I missed?
    Matt I liked the black and white shot, but you cut of the bell tower top, maybe soften those uplights on the church make for a very cool shot. P.S. are your time zones correct for texas / paris? LOL

    Now that I've been using my a300 and seeing how little I use the live view, I almost wonder if I would be happier with an a200. Same camera minus live view, but with a better viewfinder.

    I've been playing with the Maxxum 5000 that I picked up yesterday, and the difference in the a300 viewfinder and the Maxxum 5000 viewfinder is huge. Like going from a keyhole to a bay window.
