One word, my friend ... PANORAMA!
Honestly, deconstruct the tree by doing two sequenced shoots up the left, down the right. Tripod or not ... and remember to use AEL! Otherwise, it may look strange.
Photomerge the whole mess. I tell ya, with nothing moving, it could be way cool ... then CROP to frame the sucka! Sometimes, you just have to creatively deal with the nature of things. I'd demonstrate, but the tree STILL is not ready for display ... and I am STILL trying to get that last elephant in that PARKA!

Cool idea, I did try a few creative ideas, stood on the stairs and tried to shoot down, top of computer desk in the way, stood outside on front porch door open zoom in, nahhhhh, You know I keep forgetting the AEL, never used it, don't remember it's there! You know if you grease up the elephant it slides in the parka easier, and stays warmer. Last year my daughter put the 20 foot training lead on the Rottweiller put on her snow board and headed across the back yard to mixed results.

Okay ... the tree is not done (WIP), as I warned, but this is a seven-shot Panorama, from my easy chair ... to give you an idea.
I did it with the α100, the 18-250 lens and the pop-up flash. Yes, AEL was used. And yes, that is a bear-a-lope! A rare western find.
I even have the ornaments themselves helping me with it.

Not sure how all you guys deal with the white stuff. It’s going to be 71 degrees here in the Carolinas for Christmas. Never the less, I would like to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas.

Hey this looks dangerous.......You go first!
If at first you don't succeed, Skydiving is not for you!
Not the best image. We went to a smaller tree this year. This is a two shot pano.

The lady only used 1/2 her collection of ornaments to decorate. Next year, the same number will go on .. and it will use only a 1/3 of her collection. I think you know what I mean, right? Kind of like the "annual lens count."
Man, those blue LED lights are something else. It makes me wonder if they are give off UV. It is having a definitely affect on the sensor, eh?
