Here are three HRD's I did from five RAW images. I am going to keep trying till I get it right.

I'm not sure what is happening, but the color is way off. Is this intentional? If so, it gives it an "old" look if that is what you were going for.

Were these combined in CS4? If you are using something else to merge them, use CS4's HDR Merge function and you should get much better results.

Thanks I will give it a try. I used Photomatix and crrves in CS.

that is just strange..

do it manually, I never find programs that do auto hdr to ever do it right

I have Dynamic HDR also I will try that too.

Wait a minute Frank I see the problem, those aren't HDR'S they are HRD's says so right in the post! Anyway I like the sky in shot #2 'brooding' maybe.

I think they look pretty good Frank. The colors are a bit garish, but that can be tweaked in the settings. You must have used the Details Enhancer method in Photomatix, right? It always produces these "glowing" HDRs. I always have a fair amount of difficulty getting HDR's to come out right with that method. I find that the tone compressor gives better and more moderate results.

Photomatix is ok when it works, but honestly the GIMP HDR plugin gives me the best results. Often HDR's in photomatix tends to blur out details.

I used dynmanic HDR. I did not use PS yet.

I'm guessing you were going for a more realistic result, but the surrealistic images in the first post are really cool.

One of my favorite things about artistic photography is how a photo that is exaggerated in some way messes with your mind. One sees a weird painting or drawing and its just weird, but a weird photo creates an uncanny-valley type effect.

Outside of any effects I like the composition on #'s 1 and 3.
