on the Sigma. It will work the same with any flash. It is one size fits all.
-
Well, the problem is the flash head on the 58 will not turn like most flashes...kinf of hard to explain, you would just have to see it.
-
It doesn't swivel (left and right) like the F42 . The whole thing just turns.

dr4gon,
Can you post some examples of the pics with the diffuser?
Specifically what brand do you have and where did you get it???

STO-FEN Omni-Bounce OM-HV58
I'll have to find some pictures or take some when I get a chance. I think it makes too much white light flash forward (since it goes in all directions) and it looks too harsh and unnatural. For indoor use and regular ceilings, bouncing straight upward seems to be the best and most natural.

I think we all have our collective STO-FEN experiences. I have two of them and they are both retired.
The Gary Fong Whale Tail is more flexible and does a much better job, in my estimation. But ... whatta I know? LOL

Don,
The problem with the White Tail (unless I am looking at it wrong) is on this particular flash it will not turn side to side. It only pivots. See dr4gon's link on for the video and you will see what we are talking about. This is the problem I am running into. It is a great flash, it i just setup different than about 95% of the other flashes out there.
Kind of annoying.

yes i see what you mean from the video. unfortunately i think everything Gary Fong makes is for 95% of the other flashes.

Guess my '56 Flash is a little more conventional. The Fong device works pretty well on it.
Perhaps Gary will develop something for the '58 as other manufacturer's adopt the design change.

Did Sony not copyright the bounce shift design of a swiveling flash head? lol... if not, they should have! I like being unique
