No kidding ... animals love to bolt when they see a 35mm SLR coming their way. Certainly, no time for adjustments. Obviously, a bit of fill-flash might have helped render this lil' dearie.

He was too far away for a flash and standing in the trees, so that`s why I had to take it the way I had the settings at the moment I took the shot. I only had one shot and then he was gone.

When was that taken? looks very similar to over's sans the color. Very peaceful as well. Is that a boat ramp? Composition is nice except, I think it would look a bit more balanced if it were symmetrical, perhaps maybe that would make it look boring? dunno...
