    HDR Flyby

On approach to LAX, I had an idea ... HDR via jet. If anyone's tried to photograph out through a commercial airplane's window, the images are usually very flat with very muted colors. If I had to venture a guess, I would say it has to do with a combination of factors, 3-4 layers of plexiglass, probably with tinting, and angling the shot through the plexiglass. One of the great benefits of HDR is its tendency to boost color saturation.

So, here is Hollywood Park on approach to LAX.

Interesting and quite impressive , considering the ground speeds involved. Did you have to realign (stack) & crop to get this to look this good?

Remember: It is usually the GLASS, not the camera (except for moving to Full Frame), that gives you the most improvement in your photography.

    Don,

Speeds were helped by auto exposure bracketing and the A900's 4fps. But, even with the 4fps, there was bound to be some movement just in hand shake and plane shake. So, I used PhotoMatix's auto align and crop feature.

    Here's a different shot.
