Welcome back and thank you for taking the time to get this shot. I had heard Mercury was also up there, this time. It has a relatively short 88-day revolution, as it heaves and sweats out its interior around the Sun and makes timing a little tricky.

Look, I did not create the optical laws of the Universe ... I simply learned to deal with them.
Remember: It is usually the GLASS, not the camera (except for moving to Full Frame), that gives you the most improvement in your photography.

Thanks, Don.
Yeh, Mercury was visible for a couple of weeks before the 5th April, so gone now.
Weather precluded any shots when I had an opportunity.

Just before ...
I was out tromping around the prairie along side the Des Plaines River, when I heard one coming from the right ... another from the left ... resulting in this rather fun picture on the "bridge of conflict" ... the moment before ...
and moment of ...
NON IMPACT!
Guess you had to be there. They were on separate tracks, obviously, otherwise I would have had thousands of images and tons of scrap metal.

Yep. that was a bit of dust, but it is now gone! I did a bit of lens changing out in the field ... and it must have shook loose. Could also be a small bug, too. Who knows? I checked the sensor ... gave it a "rocket blast" with my Giottos. Whatever, it is gone.
Thanks for noticing.

Thanks, Elisha.
It's often surprising when the simplest of images turn out to be the best, or maybe not.
