You did the best thing by trimming the other side but it's still looks like a bit of a mistake. I'd be tempted to recommend a more agressive crop which would disguise the general lack of symmetry in this particular flower; but then the middle's a bit dark.
I think I'd bin it and go back for a better shot.

Elisha. Again, I just thought that was your preference. I quite like High Key images but I think you've overdone it on this one.
I'd never have figured out you were exporting from IDC to Lightroom. Not sure why you'd buy Lightroom and then use IDC? A trial copy maybe.
I don't really understand your results because IDC is not considered to be all that bad.

i have full versions of Capture One Pro, LR 2.4 and PS CS4.

i use IDC cause it is simple and you get to associate PS and LR on the top bar to export.
lets say i'm just noticing it now that IDC is doing something strange to my edges. especially in bright shots like this one. i thought it had something to do with the Clarity slider but i ran it to max and it did not effect the edges or the arms at all.

and after experimenting yesterday, i also notice that it is somehow compressing and may also be reducing the resolution when exporting.

when i export from IDC to LR as a 16bit tiff and output to jpeg or export again to CS4 and output to jpeg, the file size is always less than 1.5mb.

but when i open the RAW file in LR and export to CS4 as 16bit tiff and save as jpeg, the files are around 4mb.

also i see to be losing about 20% or so of the resolution exporting from IDC.
seems like it is shrinking my 12NP file to a 9~MP file or thereabouts.

regardless i seem to be noticing more of my processing flaws on the new LCD so it's all good!

    **edit**

I tested another naturally sharp image that i had once posted here that was RAW processed by IDC and tried it again with LR and no penciled outline with LR. This is the picture in question that was processed by IDC: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3404/...7b8bee6d_b.jpg
The LR processed one does not have the penciled rim that appears on the eyes that make it look over sharpened!

overall image looks a little dull after uploading. most likely an Adobe RGB vs sRGB thing!
