    It is a Minolta 75-300mm f/4.5-5.6 lens. It is nicknamed the "Big Beercan"or "BBC" because it is the bigger brother of the 70-210mm "Beercan". You can get one on eBay or maybe a local pawn shop, Craigslist, etc. Here is a picture of one.

    Frank, sorry for using the obscure acronym but a word of warning.
    Minolta made four 75-300 (1986, '95, '99, '01). Only the 1986 version is a "Big Beercan", the rest are very ordinary and half the weight (which tells you something).
    If it doesn't look exactly like the pic posted by fdexclpl, avoid it like the plague!
