Just curious, why didn't you use the 50mm F/1.4?!
the skin colour is pretty natural but i had to mess with the green and red channels to get the sky to be bluish again cause underexposing wasn't restoring it too well!
didn't use the 50mm cause i didn't have time and needed to choose 1 lens to do it all. there were about 20 kids at the house all there for pics before they were bussed off to the hotel. so i only had about 45 mins!
many other parents were there too. couple of Rebels and a D60 i think and many P&S!
funny how the people with the DSLRs did not use a hood on their lenses. thank jebus i had a rubber hood for the 28-135mm or else it would have flared like crazy!
sun was high at 4pm.

I like the road trip idea. I'm actually flying out to Iowa for a bit next week, but originally thought I might be road tripping it. Heading up through Ohio/Illinois/Indiana I thought it might be fun to at least catch up with Sean and Don(I don't remember where the others are, except Ryan and Elisha are WAY too far out of the way).
But my wife veto'd me spending that much time off work with no pay (no vacation time as an intern) so instead I'll be praying my camera gear makes it on the flights. One of the reasons I am going is to shoot her cousin's wedding as a second shooter, so it should be fun.
We made a deal that I would do it for free, but no promise of even one good shot, and I get to use the pictures for my portfolio.

I just tried to blur the background to make her stand out more.

Nice shot! I like it. Got the bokeh working for you. Perhaps another shot tomorrow, when the rest of the lilacs bloom. The fragrance must be pretty intense.

Remember: It is usually the GLASS, not the camera (except for moving to Full Frame), that gives you the most improvement in your photography.

Where's the wedding at Jason?, so Don are you willing to let Sony repaint your Rv like one of those city buses that are a wrapped billboard! Talk them into providing a full line of Alpha's for the compare and contrast shots LOL
And yes the old MARRIED guy likes the photos Elisha, and speaking of 'old guys' worked the Elton John / Billy Joel face to face show last night, WOW! outstanding show. An what was really strange they let cameras IN as long as they were fixed lens, no video, we were supposed to try and watch for people shooting vid with there cameras, yea right!

Get some JB weld, and there you have it, a fixed lens camera with a 70-200mm F/2.8 zoom. That's nearly a 3x zoom, quite modest if you ask me!
