S3000, thanks for the kind words.
Frank, Angelique photogenic as always. Where's the Exif, where did you meter and how much Flash?
Joe, did you spot meter? BTW why not post direct to the forum and show the EXIF!

Joe, some more thoughts on the flower.
Don's right to point out the exposure problem and the hot spot.
I'd choose a slightly different approach to Don by first correcting the slight underexposure in levels or curves.
Selectively using the levels or curves tools to darken the background.
Finally using the clone tool to take out the hot spot.
The whole process shouldn't take more than 5 mins or so, if that.
Of course it would be better to get the exposure correct in camera in the first place. Spot metering should have done it in this case or, as Don suggested, a touch of flash can sometimes get the job done.
BTW any criticisms are not derogatory and intended to be helpful in improving your (anybody's) results.

I think the flower pops out too much now. There is a white line or ring around the edges and it looks like the flower is glowing now. It will look a lot better if you get the correct exposure in the camera.

I won't argue that it's best to get the exposure right in camera, I think I already stressed that point.
I deliberately darkened the background enough so that the change is obvious. The amount used will be a matter of personal preference.
The white edges are present in the original and not a direct result of the changes although the darker background does accentuate them somewhat.
