Sony DSLR "Picture of the day"

Hey, if you guys find a way to increase aperture, on a zoom, from f/2.8 to something wider, please share. I haven't, yet.

Having a heat wave this weekend the temp shot up to 50 degrees from 22 last night. I took a ride down by the bay and seen two Great Blue Heron's Here is one in flight shot.

This is where isolating the subject using DOF and Bokeh saves the day. Not so much on the second image though which is pretty well OK anyway.
This is just a rough manipulation to demonstrate the possibilities.
And forgive me for mutilating your stuff.

I did blur the background a little. I didn't want to make it look obvious.LOL I shot it at f/8like most of my images. I should have shot it at f/4.5.

That would help but you'd have to zoom in as well. A focal length of 90 would not give the required DOF; 300 might.

Gotch ya I forgot I zoomed out when it took off. The second one was at 300 f/8.

Yesterday It was a shot at the back of my house, today it's the view from the front (usually minus the snow).
