I will give it a try. Need something new to shoot. This is very nice of you Don. It is a good way to pull all us Sony owners out from under the carpet and see what we can do. Good luck to all.
Thanks Frank

im new to this but did someone actually vote no. I mean there is no reason to vote no. Seems kind of disrespectful to me.

@millz - one of the sadder aspects of forum participation is the "Greek House" mentality that goes on, occasionally. Just like at college, someone always thinks they are being cute ... but, it really is just "infantile." The best part with the surveys is ... you can quickly identify who they are, because it is all public ... and the level of respect for their opinion is eroded accordingly. If they keep up their shinanigans ... you have a documented record of their behavior ... and they are dealt with, accordingly.
The "NO" vote came from an individual who does not even operate a SONY DSLR. camera. 'Nuff said.
So far, three "YES" votes ... I was hoping for a few more than that. I guess no one else needs a 70-300 lens, and that is kind of weird when you consider that two of the three "YES" votes are already 70-300 lens owners. LOL

I'm not sure if I will enter, but am in support of the idea/competition. I really don't have any Christmas decorations around the house to showcase. I think it's an excellent idea and thanks for your generosity not only for this but for everything in helping us noobs!

I don't need the or want the lens. I just think it would be fun to try. It is a nice jester on your part Don just the same.
Frank
PS I kind of thought that the no came from a non Sony owner. I hope it was all in good fun.

Hey Don
I think it would be nice starter gift for me just getting into the photography thing lol lol wink wink nudge nudge i no i could use and would appreciate it lol I like presents

I'm very excited about the idea. I got the Sony 75-300 with my camera for basically free, but I'm hoping to get the Tamron version soon, and maybe sell the Sony towards a kit lens replacement. Plus I am really interested in trying out some new things, and hopefully getting some constructive feedback from you guys.

Well, if we get to ten "YES" votes ... the contest is on, as proposed. On December 15th, 2008, barring anything stupid happening, I will post a POLL for the vote for the best submissions.
I recommend you use the original thread proposing the contest rules as the submission point, not this one.
5 more votes (legitimate ones) to go.
Best of luck in your work! Show us your stuff and ...
GET THE SHOT!
