Heading to Dubuque, IA
Okay ... I'm packing the Tamrac Velocity 9 with the 10-20mm, 24-105, 70-200, 200-500 and the '56 flash for a trip to see Sarah Palin, in Dubuque, Iowa, tomorrow (Monday, Nov 3rd), at the Grand River Center, on the mighty Mississippi River.
I hope I clear the sentries at the door with my bag ... because this could be a really cool session, being the last day before everyone historically votes for a woman as our next VP!
Should she make it, she will be closer than any other woman has ever gotten to be President of the United States.
Anyway, I'm not a big political snapper. This is 162 miles, one way! But, should I get even one or two beauties out of this ... I'll post 'em and you guys can drool. I sincerely hope she is wearing something better than rags from the "Alaska Rummage & Second-hand Shoppe", after being so intimidated by the media for her $150,000 GOP-supplied wardrobe.
I say dress for success. But the democrats would rather everyone where the same prison-orange jump suit (<- click here for a rather humorous thrill - watch it full screen). And you guys thought wedding line-dances were bad! Geez!

That's a long one way haul Don, you that big a fan, or do you think the political / historical / last minute frenzy will offer some good shots? Do you have photo creds. for this or just the well armed spectator LOL, maybe armed is not the best word. What time does she speak I will watch the news and see if anyone is looking at the big bearded guy with the HUGE lens.

The long road of political adventure ...

They are saying 12 noon ... so we shall see. She's on the very edge of Obama-Nation. I say "Nobama", mainly because I would prefer to have someone at the wheel that knows where the bus has been and where it should be going ... and not to an expensive and pointless fantasyland called "Even-Money!" A place where it's not "My hard-earned Money" or "Your hard-earned Money", but it ALL becomes "Their Money" and you'll get your check (or universal "debit-card").
So, I ask ya ... what's it going to be? U.S.A. or U.S.S.A. (United Socialist States of America)? May God help us.

Don, I don't know whats more disturbing, Asian prison dance review doing thriller, or what are you doing online looking for Asian prison dance videos? Strange days indeed, and they may get alot stranger in the days to come! On a side note our marching band did thriller as one of the halftime numbers complete with the zombie walk, the one white glove, etc. kids had a blast.

lmao USSA, hahaha
I'd say tell Obama he can "keep the change!" ...
Lucky guy! I'd love to go see her! Texas gets no attention during this time. The primaries were interesting though. Saw Chelsea Clinton and Huckabee all on the same day!

There and back again ... by Bilbo Baggins
Okay,
I got back about an hour ago (9PM) ... and it was doggedly warm standing there, for three and a half hours,
waiting for Sarah to show up. She finally did, with Hank Willams Jr. in tow, so it was a real rousing opening
with his audience-participation National Anthem and a very special campaign song, that he sang.
EXIF: A700 w/ T200-500mm @ 200mm - f/5 - 1/60sec - ISO1600 - WB=Tungsten
and reintroduced Sarah Palin
EXIF: A700 w/ T200-500mm @ 200mm - f/5 - 1/60sec - ISO1600 - WB=Tungsten
... in jeans!
EXIF: A700 w/ T70-200 f/2.8 @ 90mm f/2.8 - 1/125 sec - ISO1600 - WB=Tungsten
Then Mrs. Palin gave her address to the crowd, again,
EXIF: A700 w/ Sig 10-20mm f/4-5.6 @ 20mm - f/5.6 - 1/60 sec - ISO3200 - WB=Tungsten
requesting response at particular points and it was quite inspiring.
EXIF: A700 w/ T70-200mm f/2.8 @ 140mm - f/2.8 - 1/125 sec - ISO1600 - WB=Tungsten
Her demeanor is nothing like Hilary Clinton ... you can actually like this woman and sincerely believe she is in this
for the comman man ... not the corporate players or white collar criminals currently running loose in the business world.
She actually seems quite authentic ... at home in her own skin ... and that's something you can believe in.
EXIF: A700 w/ T200-500mm @ 280mm - f/5.6 - 1/1000 sec- ISO3200 - WB=Tungsten
I just hope I have done her justice.

VERY NICE!
I like em! I'd say it was well worth it!
So which lens did you end up using? 70-200?

I have added EXIF data to each shot, now. It takes time ... sorry for the delay
