she's a cutie Frank.
just a tip when using flash, try using a higher iso. i know the a100 doesnt handle higher iso's too well, but maybe bump it up to iso 400. it will bring in more ambient light, drop the power of the flashand make for a more evenly exposed photo.

She didn't even walk a foot once she left the house. She jumped right into her stroller. Rooz thanks for the tip I will try to remember that. I cannot take indoor flash shots. I was told to use manual mode. Took a few test shots and the histogram looked good so I left it alone.
Thanks Frank

you did a great job shooting in manual. most people dont get that far !! the whole idea of dropping your shutter speed to 1/30s is to let a little more ambient light in. so by bumping up your iso to 400 aswell, you get another 2 stops worth.
you may find this helpful.

Very cute shots . The second one is good. The only thing I would do is as rooz suggested is drag the shutter a bit more so the background is not so dark, maybe use slow sync flash? and maybe bump the recovery (white seems too blown out).
Rooz, that's a great link! I've been wanting to learn more about how to use my flash. I did some experimentation with sunset pictures and they didn't come out too bad, but it took a lot of fiddling with settings!
edit: wow that sure is a ton of reading!!

Gotta watch those feet, Frank. I wound up lopping the tall child's hat off ... you clipped your granddaughter's toes! Oops
