the first photo i was actually trying to go for more of an artistic photo. i think it shows a cold solitude type of look. the second one i think looks pretty good? i didn't P&P either one, ok i had to straighten the horizon on the second one before Don got me any C&C would be great. once again i was using the A100 w/ tamron 17-50

Second one is very nice. Seems like it would be an excellent candidate for HDR. What direction is it facing? Any good sunrise/sunset here?

Well, that first one needs some leveling, too.

1. Bring the image in at 16.7 or 25%, to have some working room around it.
2. Select ALL
3. Edit>Transform>Rotate
4. Move the entire image up frame until the horizon of the image is near the top edge.
5. Use the corner grab points to rotate the image until the horizon is parallel with the top edge.
6. Drag the image back into the frame
7. IMAGE>CROP
8. Resize or save as necessary.

You're right, though. Proper exposure (EV) level and White Balance (WB) reveals too much of the
foreground and cliff-faces. It all depends on your subject? What was that in this shot?



The second one was quite nice and would require little correction.

dr4gon, this was facing north along the PCH,about 10a.m. as far as the sunrise/sunset, i'm not sure this was shot during my coast ride.

Don there was really no subject, i guess going for more of a landscape shot. i was trying more for a mood, of how it might makes one feel, if that makes since? guess i didn't pull that off to well.

Scotts heres a few comments, please remember I am new and don't know what the hell I'm doing half the time LOL! The second shot is well done, again a CPL would really makes things 'pop' in that shot. The first one I think I know what your going for, what feel your looking for. a bit of fine tunning, the bright areas in the clouds kind of blows out the pic, and draws your eye to it. maybe a longer lens shooting somewhere around135 to 200mm would give the image a bit more distance / depth and capture the 'vastness' of the shoot? just me guessing here, please correct me if I am wrong, don't want to pass on incorrect info.
