So over the last week, I've shot a variety of things.

Half way through, I popped on the F58AM Flash and found out it goes REALLY far!

Yesterday, went fishing down at the lake! Almost landed this small bass, but the darn thing slipped just like 2 feet in front of the boat.

I am loving my new CPL!!


HDR, looking better? It's like 5 exposures, tripod mounted, M mode of the sunset over the boat ramp.

First two sets are all with the Tamron 70-200/2.8. Last two are with the KIT, yes KIT, lens. I didn't want to bring anything too nice on to the water.

C&C on everything as always please. It's why I post and I think many others do too..... especially on the last two as the first two sets were my first time (pretty much) with sports photography and the new lens.

Some great work!
#1- at first I didn't notice the "panning" was PPd, but upon closer inspection the leading edge of the leg gives it away. I never have good luck with that kind of PP myself. You did a great job keeping the whites of their shirts, how did you do your metering?

#4- great action, but I think it would be better if it was a little brighter to show the details of their faces.

#1 in your second post, very punchy colors. I like it, at the same time I would have wondered if the reds blew, but I think it's just the shine of the fabric.

#4- now that is incredible. Best shot of them all, and I'm not even a sports fan

The HDR looks pretty good, in particular I like the fence and the grass. The yellow sky looks overdone to me though. Still, it's much, much better than I've ever been able to do!

Yeah I missed that part didn't I? I used an image mask layer to "reveal" the original image. Top layer is the motion blur. Bottom layer is the original awkward pose. I simply "cut a hole" revealing the original.

I probably should have put more work into #4 and done the same with an image mask to reveal their faces better.

I'm not too big of a sports fan, but it was a fun game. 41-0 was the final score It was their second win of the season. Yeah I'm guessing it was just the jersey type material that's silk-like and pretty reflective.

Nice work with the ultimate frisbee, my daughters boyfriend plays it at college, Like any sport want to try and get the "object" on the dhot, football, soccer ball flying disc, being small and thin that adds a challenge. #9 and #14 in the football shots are great, lots of punch with the colors, good expression on the guys face in #14 also. well done all the way around. We are now done with football also, no shots of last game as it poured rain, was windy and about 45* outside, I stood in it for my daughter in band, but not with the camera LOL

It'll even be chillier, here, tomorrow, as they are talking snow flurries. I have a brutal feeling this will be a "record winter" and that's not a good thing.

Anyway ... weather or not ... the camera is at the ready. Had a few isssues that are keeping me at home, constantly ... just running errands. Missed a pretty cool cloud formation, today, like nothing I had ever seen ... but, probably not that unusual for high winds and spotty rain. City had some damage today.

I have to quit leaving the house without my right hand toy!
