    Gear for Mount Panorama

Apart from the essentials (esky of beer, toothbursh, and a Visa card), this is what I'm preparing for this year's Bathurst 1,000:

    In case you can't tell:

EOS-1Ds Mark II (probably use this all weekend over the cropper)
EOS-1D Mark III (2) (may ditch one)
    EF 16-35/2.8 (atmospheric shots)
EF 24-70/2.8 (may ditch this - don't think I'll use this FL range)
EF 24/1.4 (experimental - mainly for pit area and grid)
EF 85/1.2 II (experimental - mainly for pit area, grid and some narrow DoF on-track action)
EF 200/2.8 II (instead of the 70-200/2.8 IS - too bold?)
EF 300/2.8 IS (this is the first lens picked)
EF 600/4 IS (maybe should go for the 500/4 IS instead and save my back?)
EF 1.4x II (good for a few long range on the 600)
EF 2x II (am I kidding myself?)
    TS-E 24/3.5 (highly experimental - please don't expect much)
    Speedlite 580EX II
Remote release (a surprise for you - will fill you in on Sunday night if it works out)
    PL-C 52mm
    PL-C 72mm
    PL-C 77mm
    PL-C 82mm
    Gitzo Monopod
    46GB of flash memory
    Windows Notebook with 3G Aircard
    Spare battery
    Battery Charger
    Lowe Pro Trekker backpack
    Assorted hoods

The challenge: coming back with shots from all this gear that are worthwhile!

See you in a couple of days with the results.

what is the camera body on the far right? is that a removable grip I see?

And you have a tilt shift in the photo but not the gear list, what are your plans for that sucker? okay I saw it in the gear list... I'm blind

Yeah, I really like the results from the 200/2.8 wide-open over the zoom.

You caught me out - that's a 1V HS doubling for the 1Ds Mark II I needed to use to take the shot..

The TS-E is because I'm running out of ideas and don't want to come back with all of the same shit as last year!

Make sure they're clean before I go and shoot wide-open.
