Nice, 100% crop? wait no .... can't be. I was trying to get some of the moon last night, through a window (had sunken too low). I will try again tonight.

I would try backing out a little bit ~200mm to sharpen things up a bit. It certainly blew me away!

I liked the look of this type of moon. I can tell you it don't stay in the sky long this time of the year. I seen it the other night and wanted to take a few shots and when I got home it was gone. LOL I had to adjust the tripod several times while I was taking these.

Weather here has also been rather grim, looking skyward. I'm kind of glad I didn't drop for that telescope. Wouldn't get much use out of it, that's for sure.

Next year, I definitely have to get down to Arizona to do the "Canyon" and get a few shots from that area. Maybe then, I'll pop for the LONGEST lens. LOL

Good shot, Frank. Looks like you are getting to know that A100 really well. It's shame that once you upgrade ... it's a whole different curve learning the new camera all over again. Ah, the challenge, eh?

Remember: It is usually the GLASS, not the camera (except for moving to Full Frame), that gives you the most improvement in your photography.

Thanks Don, I am starting to think before I shoot. I have been using the Histogram to check settings. I have been trying to use M mode to see how I can do. I am going to read through my book again.

    Nice Pic

These are really nice and clear. I tried to take this last night too. On a couple I must have moved the camera.( I need a better tripod) On a couple it might have been too light around me. The exposure might have been too short. I came up with nothing. Also at 300mm I am not as close as you both are. Maybe I waited until too late (about 10PM in NY).

Practice makes perfect, Try Try Try again..........
