Here is another try with Dynamic Photo HDR. I used the Orton filter whatever that is.
Frank

I don't like it at all. I got the foreground better but lost the sky. Back to the drawing board.

Everything seems a bit too bright, I think I like the first better, especially the sky. That's a nifty little program though.

I keep trying to get it right. I don't like this just though I would post to get some comments. This is HDR and I added the Orton effect after. I just cannot get it right. Is this not a good image for HDR? I have a good sky and dark foreground. Am I missing something?

Like the sky on this one, but now the foreground (wheat field?) is brighter (more green).
But maybe that's just me, because the point of HDR is to expose the shadows and retain the highlights.
I suppose you can take HDR two ways, one to make it more realistic, and two, to make things just look unreal and have all the color/light.

I cannot get the right balance. I will keep trying.

I would use an image mask and just keep the sky and darken the grass.

Frank I know it's not what your going for but I like the above "image" it does have a cool look to it so I guess it is about what impression you wnat to make, or see. Like I said I don't really understand HDR yet, but I kind of like a lot of the landscape unreal / surreal images that can be made. maybe it's just me? Keep working till you get what you want, and keep posting.

Thanks Sean I want to try doing it from a raw image but cannot get Photomax to do it yet.

Here is a quick edit of the original. No HDR or filters. I just don't like it the sky just don't look sharp.
