 HDR of the Moon
Okay, using the new version 4 software ... I went for the moonshot.
It turned out pretty cool.
SONY α700 w/ TAMRON SP AF 200-500mm f/5-6.3 Di LD
@ 500mm - f/11 - 1/250 ( & 1/1000 sec & 1/60 ) sec - ISO-100 - no filter - natural lighting (LOL) - tripod - SSS-off - 100% CROP - no sharpening
Below was the BASE exposure ...

Look, I did not create the optical laws of the Universe ... I simply learned to deal with them.
Remember: It is usually the GLASS, not the camera (except for moving to Full Frame), that gives you the most improvement in your photography.

Yes pretty cool I agree. I haven't tried any moon shots since I got a dslr. You've made me want to have a go.

Don, sorry for the noob question... to do HDR like the moon, I should be using the Exposure Bracket in my A300, right? Also, there's an option to set 0.3 or 0.7 steps, which one should I use? Thanks.

newbie response: maybe shoot a set on each step setting, also adjust your shutter speeds, use the same speed settings for 0.3 and 0.7 "sets" then adjust speeds and shoot 2 more sets of threes, do that a few times maybe? will have more images to asses the results with, and to work with?

thanks sean. what do u suppose is the the best speed & aperture to use if i have a clear view of the full moon?

Thats the part I don't have worked out yet myself LOL man I feel so stupid here at times, but it is fun to learn, just got to do it till you get it right, and then practice, practice, and ask Don for advice!

I put my settings up, 'oric1' ... right under the image as EXIF Data.
To do a proper HDR, you need to have +/- 1 EV or +/- 2 EV.
+/- 0.3 EV or +/- 0.7 EV is just not enough and that's one of the main reasons why SONY
created the version-4 software for the A700. Also, that's why I tried it out. Just to see. Works for me. 
Remember: the moon is moving fast and if you do not get these three exposures (-EV, EV, +EV) in under one
second, you may encounter blur when you try to create/reconcile your HDR-image.
