 Monkeying around in the middle ...
Dr4gon, I never thought I'd be using the camera today, of all days. Just some rain ... and we've been through those. But nothing like this,
in as far as I can recall (20-years, here). I had a water main break at the end of my driveway (lifted the darn concrete, I swear), about
eight-years ago and it still never got this bad! Close, but no cigar ... this one took the cake.
The worst part is ... we fear there is a lot more to come with that darn hurricane breathing down our neck. We've sandbagged all the
basement windows, within the last few hours. I'm actually considering the purchase of another eductor sump, just in case this one decides
to go. It's been running rather heavily, today.
Electric has not been a problem ... and that's probably saved our respective arses, although I am generator-equipped (20-years teaches you
something  ). The neighbor's sump was overwhelmed and they just abandoned ship. All through the town are the signs of rain-flooding.
Several of these reflecting ponds, out front of the local buildings have threatened to jump their walls and banks. The wife's rain guage ...
overflowed at eight inches.
It's just too much water! Maybe I need to get the porpoises over here, from the zoo, and have my own show in the backyard!

We got lucky as TS Ike went to east Texas. It wouldn't have been nearly as bad though as what you're going through.

Nice pano. i see you have a motor home but where is the boat?? What do you feed your pet Dolphins? Looks like they are eating apples from the tree. LOL

I sold the boat several years ago ... it was one of those long cigarette style monsters, with the six wheel trailer.
I used to pull it right up on the beach and stop for brewskis!
Yeah, sure ... and I grow grapes in the wineyards, out back, too.
Never had a boat. Thought about it ... then I thought better. After ten years in Uncle Sam's Canoe Club (USN) ...
I've saw all the darn water I ever wanted to. That's why I moved back to the Great Midwest ... and here we go, again!

one wet midwesterner to another
I feel your pain, and share your wetness Don, hm maybe I should reword that.
we have been raining last 2 and half days here in Ohio on and off, nothing like your getting,,,,,,YET for us. spent the day today working security at a charity auction "gotta pay for glass" looked a lot like woodstock  all wet and mud and tents and slop, and the fact that we are in the heart of Amish country add in plenty of wet horse YUMMY! Did stop raining around 1 here then got HUMID so much fun.
Like your backyard shots Don, I grew up less then 100 yards from a river so 2 or 3 times a year, at least we had "lakefront property" and every couple of years our patio became a dock!
whats that song.......who'l stop the rain.
