This was a re-shoot and HDR of the upper falls:
Obviously, the angle of the Sun plays a major role in how this "develops"?

Look, I did not create the optical laws of the Universe ... I simply learned to deal with them.
Remember: It is usually the GLASS, not the camera (except for moving to Full Frame), that gives you the most improvement in your photography.

No ... there is no wide variation, which tends to make for a lack-luster HDR.

Don, i think it may be the subject matter and/or the type of shot you are choosing and/or your technique, but imho you HDR's are almost as bad as mine. which is not good. lol most of the HDR's your posting look worse than the originals and i dont see any increase in DR at all.
i think you;re missing something somewhere mate.

Yep ... lighting!
I know what the problem is ... it's my timing and angle of lighting. I was planning on retaking the shot in the AM ... with the sun directly striking the falls, instead of behind it. Unfortunately, the weather has taken a turn for the worse ... and we have a fine rainy day on our hands ... and cloudy for the rest of the week. Certainly not the wide spectrum of light I had hoped for. There may be three f/stops of range out there, right now. Plenty foir a regular shot, with hardly any highlights and light shadow.
Oh, I can probably monkey with what I have and brute force it, as I have been trying to MAXIMiZE the detail in the highlights.
Time to experiment.
