What do you think about the image quality, judging by Jeff's pictures? For instance - the amount of noise in shadow areas and in the ISO 800 picture?

Jeff's pictures are here, in case you missed them:

sony are going in a different direction it would appear to me. low light shooting is not their priority, this seems to be aimed at studio and good lighting for hi res images. 24mp remember is double a D3 so its understandable that there is a fair bit more noise.

    Cool Powerful glass options

Well, here are the two lenses they brought out with it ...

The 70-400mm f/4-5.6 G SSM is quite formidable ... in platinum.

    These are 70-400 max apertures:

    70mm-85mm: f/4.0
    85mm-150mm: f/4.5
    150mm-250mm: f/5.0
    250mm-400mm: f/5.6

The CZ 16-35mm f/2.8 quite necessary.

Actually, I was going wait until "Rooz" gets his ... LOL

I can tell he is totally enamored with its mysteries and impact on the FF DSLR world.

I need to work on some clever methods of purchasing this puppy, but you can check me off in the "probably" column. I put off the EOS 5D (FF) when I was a "Canoneer" ( You know, the company song ... "Who's the leader of the photographic club ... that won't give us in-the-body-IS?" "C - A - N - O - N ... E - O - S")

    Sorry, I digress.

Anyway, now that FF has in-the-body-IS ... and that's just what I have been waiting for, so the decision is pretty much made. Working on the exact "WHEN", now.

Thanks for asking ... kinda. Shhh, don't tell anyone. This is between you, me and the for(um) walls.

well i WAS a canon guy only 2 years ago, so never say never. probably wont be an a900 from what i've seen so far but who knows what the future brings ? my brand loyalty extends so far as the manufacturer gives me what i want and need, if they dont and someone else does...then adios !

pretty soon i will be making a commitment to a full frame body, the d700 is my front runner but the 5dMkII interests me alot and i wont buy a d700 until i see the 5dMkII. if it gives me the Fuji S5 style DR i want, then i'm in, if all it gives me is video, LV, MP's and rhetoric then sorry, but thats not what i'm in the game for.

i am interested in how you can handle a shot taken with this beast. 24mp will make the images what ?? 40mb or something ?? i dont know if my computer can even take that. lol
