That thing is a monster...but why the tiny LCD on top?

I'll make a prediction right now - this camera will be the new low-light king, even besting the D3. After all, they are Sony sensors.

    2 interesting things.
no pop-up flash and no built in grip.

so this is more aimed at the d700/ 5d. ie: not a full pro camera that some were expecting.

The initial pro release from Minolta, the Maxxum 9000, had an assortment of drives available. 20 years later, no integrated drive on the Maxxum 9, either. There has never been an integrated grip ... on any of the Minolta "pro" level cameras. So, you are farming out in the field. Do the research, my man.

Anyway, the A700 VG will work on the A900 ... simplicity, eh?

There is no pop-up flash on the Canon EOS 1D or 1Ds, either. Oh, how rare, eh?

    Bah, this is hot stuff.

i didnt say it wasnt hot stuff. i just think thats an interesting spec. on one hand it offers no PUF but on the other there is no vertical grip. kind of in betwen the pro level and the pro-sumer level.

i hope this comes in at around the $3k mark. that'll set the cat amongst the pigeons.

Agreed, I didn't think this would cause too much a problem..... ugh.

I'm excited nonetheless.... even though it will be a few years before I get my hands on something like this.

    btw, I just posted stuff!
