Sony RAW software
There is supposedly a codec out for Vista users to be able to view the RAW files like JPEG (http://support.d-imaging.sony.co.jp/...raw/index.html)
A friend of mine is looking for something similar for XP cause he can't view them on his PC.....
Also is there a Sony RAW converter that comes bundled with the camera??

The codecs are mostly for Vista x86; only Olympus have written one for 64-bit. If you convert to DNG the ArdFry will work in both XP and Vista 32-bit and 64-bit. The codecs are available here http://www.microsoft.com/prophoto/downloads/codecs.aspx
Yes the Alphas come with a RAW converter but again 64-bit O/S is not supported so far as I know.

That codec you linked works for RAW thumbnails to be viewed in explorer and windows photo viewer. That's all I use it for. Lightroom sees everything else.

I am almost certain that I downloaded and isntalled the software on my wife's 64-bit Vista laptop. I couldn't find the CD, so I got it from Sony's website.
Good luck!

I agree, dr4gon. I don't use the codec myself. I'll be using either Lightroom or Bridge for viewing RAW files or any other picture files for that matter.
Compcon, the driver on the Sony site is probably a bit more than a codec and it does work in 64-bit as well, so that's useful. It's deplorable that so much software still has not been updated to run on the 64-bit O/S.
