    Most Popular DSLR Lenses

Here are some most popular DSLR lenses; arranged them in three categories - Canon, Nikon and Other based on popularity.

I am interested in knowing peoples opinion on the Nikon 50mm f1.8 vs the Nikon 50mm f1.4
This article indicates that the f1.8 is more popular…is that becuase it is a better lens or because more people have that lens due to its less expensive price tag...

the 1.8 is more popular because it is dirt cheap. never mistake popularity for performance.

Interesting. By production numbers, I would expect the 18-55 kit lens to be more popular than the 70-200/2.8 VR - ditto for the 55-200 VR.

ha, I also would have thought the 18-55 would have been the most popular seeing as how everyone who gets a dslr these days has one.

Rooz hinted at what I was going to say: 'popularity' doesn't mean squat with good optics, because what's best is usually most expensive. If popularity meant anything in terms of quality, then the 18-55mm would be much better than the 17-55mm f/2.8 - there're so many more of them out there!
    Nikon D40 + kit lens

    Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 D AF(...or not)
