    Grand Place, Brussels

Last week I was in Brussels on business and took the EP-1 out for a walk before dinner. This is from the old town square - Grand Place.

EP-1, 17 mm 2.8 at 2.8, 1/30s, ISO 1250. OOC JPEG with a little edge sharpening and resize in Aperture.

    Klaus,

That really shows the potential of the micro 4/3rd's. I am holding out for probably one more generation (and a few paychecks), but ISO 1250 like that is tempting me.

Cherry blossoms, the birds that love them, in the rain (in order, kind of).

Getting a little closer to nailing the composition/focus with slightly better light

That is one beautuful shot Klaus, very nice!

Love the cherry blossoms Jekostas! I've never thought about spring time for pics, but that's gonna change this year.

Capturing a bird in flight is tough Don. You do it well!

I guess I need to put some pictures up now. Nothing fancy, I was looking through my RAW shots in Olympus Studio and noticed the art filters, so I tried them out on one. There are normal, Grainy B&W, PopArt, Pinhole, and SoftFocus, I'll leave it to you to guess which is which. I think I like normal best anyhow. The others that I didn't put here are boring and similar to soft focus, and I can't understand a situation where they would be best.

    Nice!

I've been researching on DSLR's until I think it was time to pull the trigger. I opted out of Nikon & Canon and went with the Olympus Evolt E520 10MP Digital SLR Camera with 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 and 70-300mm f/4.0-5.6 ED Zuiko Lenses $700 all in.

I look forward to adding some shots here. Maybe not as exotic places as some have been fortunate to see but still I hope the camera will be creative enough for my needs.

I'll call this a "still life". She didn't move for a 1.5 second exposure

I have always thought this camera and lenses was the best possible for the price. Just make that a 14-54mm 2.8-3.5 II and you're set .

Exotic depends on where you are. The Chinese consider the United States to be exotic, and always wonder why I'm taking pictures of the things they do everyday .
