Don't you just hate it when your shadow gets in a shot?

These are two photos taken just after Christmas. My sister wanted to be a model in the snow.

Jekostas, it looks like you are about 100 meters from the eagles.

North Carolina has two covered bridges left. The Pisgah covered bridge near Asheboro and the Bunker Hill covered bridge near Claremont. The first pic is the Pisgah covered bridge which is approx 62 miles from me.

The second pic is the Bunker Hill covered bridge and it's about a 144 miles from me. I took the pics on two different weekends, but it never got above freezing either time.....

Builder, if you ever have a chance to go back those two bridge scenes would be prime candidates for HDR shots.

I don't have a clue about what HDR is or does jekostas? I have to get the basics of photography down first before I get into more stuff. That pic of the first bridge was decent but that second pic gave me a fit! With the tin roof AND the sky to contend with I'm lucky it turned out that good. *sigh* The sky is a major weakness of mine and I'm to the point now that I usually just skip the pic altogether as I know it's going to suck.......

    "High Dynamic Range"

To put it in layman's terms, it's combining three or more pictures of the same subject with different exposures so you can keep both dark and light detail in the same picture.

Thanks jekostas, layman's terms are a good thing! I might look into that on down the road, thanks for telling me about it.

Playing with B&W which the more I do the better I like it! Since I don't have waterfalls near me, a dam and spillway are the next best thing. From Little River Park........
