    Thanks raven
jekostas $80 that's a real bargain I'm not suprised you went for it.
I wasn't aware of the iso50-3200 on the E510. As I've never upgraded the firmware on my camera or any of my lenses do I still have that test feature? if so how do you get to it?
kgosden yes I like the longer close focussing distance of the 70-300 it allows you to be more stealthy for insects, just wish it had a wider aperture though. Mind you it's a great lens for the money.

I actually bought a whole lot of equipment off of someone switching to FF, and sold off the pieces. I've still got some rather nice filters left to sell, but I'm up to $80 left to recoup and a rather nice macro lens.

As to the "test" page, look up E-500 3200 on Youtube - procedure is the same.

We recently added a hummingbird feeder on our deck. We only have two regular visitors and they are very skittish. One does sit in a tree nearby and wait for the other so he can buzz him away. Our yard is rather shady so I have to use ISO 800 to get anything much.

jekostas thanks for the link I may have a go one day, it's a lot of moves to remember out in the field though.
Don keep us posted on your experience with the monitor calibration. It's something I've not worried about much before - maybe I should? although I don't print much if anything these days. Especially as I found out our now quite old 32inch LCD TV will actually show my shots off pretty well when plugged into the pc.
Kgosden wish we had humming birds round here to shoot. mind you I have trouble keeping up with our sparrows so I'd have no chance with hummers.
Finally to keep the images going here's an evening shot of Yarmouth IoW from the end of the pier just cropped to give a panorama feel.

It's a joke. But I do remember you having problems seeing images larger than 700 pixels! See, I shoulda used the winking symbol in the first place.
