That's actually a pretty amazing shot. However, it's been a while since I had a camera that I could correct for back focus, and when I add the EC-20 it's really bad on my E-410, enough that if I focus on a bird the focus is a full foot behind it. Then I started thinking, for the price the 75-300mm on an E-M5 would give just as good results and be less than half the weight, plus the E-M5 is a much better camera than any 4/3 camera I have had, or any really. Downsides are less reach 300 to 400 and no weather sealing. Also, I can't get over the feeling that micro 4/3 cameras aren't quite mature, and next's year's model will be worth the wait.
I keep feeling I need to wait another revision for the 'right' value/IQ balance as well. The two things holding me back are the lack of zooms to match regular 4/3rds (f2.8-35) and I really do not like EVF's. That said I am still thinking about a Pen with the current rebates...
Had good weather today in Sitka. I took a 13 mile hike, but got started too late so I did not have enough time for photos. I did get a few. One of the distractions was the salmon running up the river along the trail. I had to top and watch them often on the way to the falls at the end of the out and back hike. There were so many in this spot below a small falls that i think you could have almost walked across on them! Hmm looks like the upload got messed up on this connection. Will have to correct when I get to real speeds in a week or two.
Great weather all week in Glacier Bay. i will get around to sorting and posting a few photos soon. Saw some great wildlife including a nice humpback whale waving at us.
