    I think you're dreaming

The E-3 was ~$1800 when it was released. Why would you expect the E-5 (?) to be any less ?

Sure, but one can always dream. I am really hoping that there is an update to the 600 series or a new E50 in a few months.

Took a short hike in the GA mountains today. I liked how this stalk of flowers appeared to be part of the fern.

    Sunset

Thought it was about time I posted something in here. This is a local sunset shot cropped slightly taken using the sunset preset settings i'm afraid. I just seem to get better shots when I don't set them up myself and resort to the camera settings. Sad but true. If anyone has any better sunset settings let me know.

Great color Phil. I would stick with the sunset scene mode if it keeps giving results like those.

Thanks but it's the Olympus engineers who defined the settings. They seem to work pretty well for me so figured I may as well use them.

Don that's like one of those spot the difference games. It's a nice shot but I just wondered what you had done to the image in general though. The original looks quite sharp and contrasty but it seems to look a bit unnatural somehow, almost like a plastic replica even though I suspect it wasn't.

Don, I had similar feelings to Phil on the photo. I think that it is the slight softness to the white feathers around the neck/shoulder area. Could have been the bird moved, but I suspect it was a DOF thing. The feet and face seem to be in the plane of focus. It is something about the combination that looks off in my mind,
