Rooz I paid 1500 for mine here in the UK and only got the 12-50mm lens. With the 12-40 it would have been 1900. I'll let you do the conversion to see why I'd say you got a bargain and confirm we always get ripped off here in the UK. Oh and if I wanted to upgrade and buy the 12-40 lens now it would cost me 900
But I do agree with you the camera is pretty impressive. Shame it's not quite as stellar with the old 4/3s lenses as the hype would have us believe though.

yes, i have read similar thoughts expressed by other users. i must say though, i have not been evenly remotely tempted by any 4/3 lens. they are just too big, may as well just get a d7100 and build an apsc kit. not to mention the price of some of them is quite absurd. very much looking forwad to oly's 25/1.8, it's a focal length i really miss. hopefully its as good as the 45/1.8.

I'm beginning to agree with you and actually consider getting rid of my 4/3 lenses to go micro. I just wish there were some wider aperture zooms. Guess I'll just have to be patient.

Nice silhouette, I am guessing that the vignetting was intentional.

When I do move to the E-M1 I will still need to keep some of the better 4/3 glass. The 50-200 is hard to replace and there is no 1.4x or 2x teleconverter yet for m4/3. I am really hoping that with the shorter flange back distance and the 4/3rd's sensor size Olympus decides to create a great T/S with a 24mm equivalent focal length. It would seem to need so much less glass than the big ones from Canon and Nikon.

Great pose. I am hoping that was a zoo shot and not while out on a bush walk.

It did take a while waiting till he tilted his head back to let some light into his eyes. No eye contact though unfortunately. Annoying.

Resistance was futile. The battery for the E-M1 is charging now. With the current $200 discount on the 12-40 with the E-M1 I felt compelled. Of course I have to go filter shopping again since I have no 62mm filters, lots of 58 and 72's. Might have to pick up a 62-72 step up so I can at least use the expensive ND's I have. Still will need a polarizer at a minimum. Charge faster you fool battery the light is fading fast today...
