Love the massed ants Raven, very effective. Wonder how it would look as wallpaper, probably drive you to scratching.

sharpness +2, contrast +1, Red B+W filter, Neutral tone.
this does limit the dynamic range a fair bit though. with the Fuji you can get this look right out of the box with no adjustment and still have a lot more gradation in the blacks/ darks. but then again...if I shot this with a fuji it would have focussed on the guy on the bench. what guy on the bench you ask ? the one I walked past 2 seconds before.

looking forward to the em1 where you can really get the tones and curves right with that funky little adjustment wheel.

Well you never know what might show up unexpectedly. We live in town and once had a black bear in the backyard. However, nothing beats an encounter I had while bicycling in the Atlanta suburbs. I was on one of my regular routes I have used for the past 6-7 years. Cruising downhill at about 30-35mph along a road with some housing developments and a few larger 'estate' sized lots. One of these had a short wooden fence about 4-5 feet tall along the road, just a few boards in an open corral style, with brushy woods behind it. I heard something running along with me through the brush, oddly the gait sounded distinctly two legged. I glanced over and right at about eye level was a little feathered head bobbing along. I was being chased by an emu! Since that day it is never there on days when I have a camera handy, but I have learned it has been at that house for a few years.
