Thanks Ken great minds and all that. In my case it actually wasn't that early, about 8:00 I think. It was the sun making it look more misty than it was.

They do vary in their comfort levels with people. These are at my in-laws feeder everyday. One of them buzzed up against my back while I was standing next to the feeder. He was telling me to get out of the way. I got a whole sequence of them dipping into the feeder. Exposure was tough against a brightly lit wall with a deep shadow from the overhang.
I have plenty of hummingbird shots to keep this thread alive for a week or two. While I was at the in-laws I just had to stand still by the feeder for 15 minutes to catch a couple of dozen shots. With the bright light it was pretty easy to get a high enough shutter speed to catch their wings in some shots.
Well, with animals it is mostly luck and patience. But these guys did stare me down both on their route into the feeder and between dips. I was mainly hoping to catch the colorful iridescence in their feathers which changes constantly. Invariably right when I decided to drop my arms for a minute to stretch one would buzz right into the feeder.
And now for something completely old... finally posting the rest of my trip through China. In this case it is through Tibetan areas outside the Chinese province called Tibet, because Xizan ("West Tibet") province is too difficult and restrictive to travel in. These are in Qinghai and Gansu provinces. Notably, the first picture is definitely not Tibetan, but the others are.
