Yeah, it is a little big, but I have an irresistible urge to spend money on it. Actually I decided I could use the extra f stops more than I had originally thought. Still not certain it will ever travel beyond my local excursions. Really cannot see it on some of my adventure trips just due to the bulk and weight.

Nah, this is what you need to do.

Rent a Bigma.

After that the 50-200 won't seem so big

If I wanted a Sigma to make it feel small I would go with the 200-500 f2.8

I guess the Olympus adapter might add a few ounces to the 34.5lbs

Don, so you tested the lens? Was it OK at 200mm?

Neither for me thanks. I'll take a 150mm f/2.8 and a 300mm f/4, both as compact as possible without hurting IQ too much. Maybe a 75mm f/2 while you're at it...
