Definitely agree about IQ being a big part of the equation. If the 9-18 didn't exist I would probably have to own the 7-14. I tend to use most of my wide angle gear with a tripod so I did not feel the need for the extra stops wide open. Weight was a big factor since I tend to take the wide angle gear hiking a lot. Now the opposite is true for me on the tele end. I just gave in and ordered the 50-200 even though it is a bit much to carry compared to the 70-300.

What's next Don? Seems like your bases are covered, unless you need one of the f/2 zooms! I have no other urgent upgrades now. I might get the fisheye at some point, otherwise all I want is a nice cheap super telephoto. The 50-200 is too short, and everything long enough is too expensive (as in $2500-$5000!) and really too big.

Well, I thought I was all done but now I'm considering selling my two E-510's and picking up a used E-3, sigh...
Should be lots on the market when the next flagship is released.
A longer reach would be nice but no way can I justify a 300mm f 2.8 @ ~ $6000. And the truth is I didn't use the Bigma enough to keep it. The 50-200 + ec20 actually has enough resolution to stand up to cropping and is a much smaller "package"..

Nice. I've never seen that many types of tulips ever, much less at the same time. I believe my preference is for the second to last (but my preference has often been shown to be wrong). Sometimes the bokeh in these looks a little funny, don't know what could be done though...
