Quarter Moon tonight
Manually holding the e-520 with 600mm equivalent Olympus lens; 1600 ISO
I have ordered a remote switch and next thing will be a tripod. That should help from these first attempts.

Flintlock...
You need to familiarize yourself with the "preview" button AND find a way to downsize your images before posting them.
For now, there is an "edit" button that you can use to change your post, ie., change your image sizes.

Please crop out just the moon, and eliminate the unnecessary black. Or else some other way to resize. I had to search for a minute to find the moon.
Regarding the moon: the best way to take a picture is to use "spot metering" and center the lens directly on the moon. Yours is over exposed because of the dark night sky. The nice thing about taking a shot of the moon is that it is perpetually sunny, so you expose as if it is sunny.

Geez, if you can't figure out how to downsize an image or edit your post, just ask.

That's 3 more than I have lit. But it is probably less than I smoked walking into my hotel here in Vegas this afternoon.

Well, I have to be up to do a presentation tomorrow, but I might go out and try to get a photo of the strip to bump us to a narrower page
