Ah, it doesn't compensate for rotation in the sensor plane, such as seen in my picture above. But they'll have 4/6 degrees of freedom covered! Maybe Oly can make a 6 degree of freedom IS system, so the focus won't move when you shoot with a shallow depth of field!

Some VERY red skies tonight made for a gorgeous sunset, but I think it means I'm in for a rather large storm tonight.

Also, Raven, I think the Pentax IS system can correct a little bit for rotational movement because the CCD is actually suspended in a magnetic field as opposed to on a platform with micromotor movement.

Storm's a-comin'. Shot in monotone with a big contrast boost.

Nice series. If it was me, I'da been scrambling to find to leading foreground for those skies.

Thanks raven. Unforunately, there's no "foreground" to speak of, as they were all taken from my balcony over the top of an apartment building - damned arthritis flared up and kept me inside for three straight days.

Hope you're feeling better soon, I am also Blessed with arthritis

This is a curly maple wall hung shelf I make on a limited production basis. The support is Saskatchewan birch finished with black gesso.

I initially tried shooting it right on the wall but I can tell you, latex painted drywall applied with a roller is Not a good backdrop

Ended up cutting off a piece of focus gray paper backdrop and pinning it to the wall, shot with two Alien Bees strobes in softboxes.

    Cheers, Don

Moon shot try #2 from tonight. Thanks for the advice Don, but honestly... um... didn't end up using any of it beyond "mess with post-processing". It was too dark try live-view manual focusing, or completely blown out from the boost, and shot at 300mm again because 270 gave no real detail or quality boost.

    Moon shot #3

Alright, attempt #3. Extremely clear skies tonight. Pretty much the same as last night, but a lot more light available.
EXIF data is intact, automatic focus, spot metered, went with a three second lockup tonight
