shot while waiting for the BBQ to heat up, late supper

Ain't life great? I'm eating watermelon I just took out of my fridge (1/3 a large watermelon for 40 cents) and drinking cold beer (5.4 liter = 1.4 gallon for $2.48) after a hot day in China. Then I teach my movie class, where we are watching "Shrek." Only problem is I don't have a camera, because mine is in a Chinese repair shop and who knows when I'll get it back.

I can only assume it was some kind of haze, it was getting down to 0 degrees when I shot ???

And/or cuz it's overexposed

Been a bit quiet lately here so just thought I'd kick things off again. Here's a shot at Ilam in Derbyshire on a nice morning with my circ polariser. Cropped slightly to remove vignetting from adding the polariser on top of the normal filter. Seems to have lost a bit of sharpness in shrinking to post. Looks a bit jaggy edged too. Hmm original looked fine.

I'd love to take some new shots but my camera is still in a Chinese repair shop (starting to wonder if that is permanent).

One of the most recent ones, when my camera was f/5.6 and 1/500s manual focus only.

nice shot raven although i think if you focussed on the bud in the foreground it would have been more effective.

In my opinion, being unable to set the aperture to anything but f/5.6 made it not quite work, the building is too out of focus.

Oy that kinda sucks... hopefully you can get that fixed soon. Seriously - Hexanon lens. Damned fun thing to carry around (and pretty close to unbreakable).

With a little PS work, okay maybe a lot, you could probably put the sharper buds in front of the better blurred house.
