Not sure if this is the right place

But I need a new bag or bags, so any comment or input? I know it's better to spend money on lenses but then you gotta have someplace to put them! I only have the sony shoulder bag I got when I bought the A700 it's fine for the camera with the 17-50mm and extra battery but that is about it. And I know the value of keeping the wife happy, so keeping gear and "stuff" put away is handy. So heres my thought/question do I get a large bag, case to be able to put everything in for storage? "I have a large hit list of things to buy" and then a light small bag maybe lowepro slingshot 100 to carry just what I need with me? "I know a 200-500mm ain't going in there!" or will this just frustrate me by having stuff at home? what about a larger bag like the slingshot 300 or a trekker of some kind? doesn't have to be lowepro I am just somewhat familer with there stuff.

    I've got this one:

    http://www.caselogic.com/slr_zoom_ca...?modelid=57077

It's great for taking it out on a day trip with just 1 lens. It fits my 70-300mm on my a300 (with the hood in reverse). It also easily fits (with more room to spare) my 17-50mm with the bayonet hood.

As for extra storage, holds my ipod, p&s camera, microfiber cloth, and extra CF cards. It's very minimal, but that's what I like about it.

Aside from the kit, I only have 2 lenses right now, so I tote the other in a backpack or bag where I also stick this bag in (like my last camping trip).

I have a Lowerpro lens case for my 70-300, and the case strap goes thru the belt loop on the lens case. For the larger zooms, its the only way to stay with a smaller camera bag. I'm thinking of getting another for my flash because its' case has no loops, and is currently riding in (and filling up) another bag that carries my reporter notebook. By going modular, its easy to drop off modules when they won't be needed, like the flash.

I was thinking of getting a case for my 70-300 too, but now with my 3rd lens on it's way (assuming one on the camera) that leaves 2 out and about so I think I should probably upgrade to a bigger bag. Probably something that can hold maybe 3 lenses + a flash should be enough for trips. Oh yeah and as small and lightweight as possible .

The lowerpro sling 100 does look nice, have you seen it in person? Wolf camera has a bunch of bags in addition to the lowerpros and you should also check smaller camera stores too.

    bags

I have looked at and handled the 100 and 200 slingshot not the 300 yet, no one around me had it in. 100 looks like it would hold camera one lens and a small spare. maybe the 70-300 on camera and 17-50 in bag, a small prime also is set up for a bit more, but why get a small bag and then STUFF it full? of course room for battery cards, assorted odds and ends.might be the choice for walking around all day and hving camera with you. I have NOT handled the nova 3 or 4 as of yet, looked at them online though. it seems like there is always something to decide on and to spend money on eh!

have no idea about the seller, looks decent though.

$40 shipped (lowest BIN) on ebay.

Looks like a good bag although I like the sling/backpack configuration more.
