Baseball games require lots of reach, so...full-frame gives you wider shots. Simple...just wondering what lens you were using to reach the action.

you can crop back further on FX without losing quality though. its also got a less restricted FOV to make in-focus areas at range a little easier to achieve. so while its easy to think that a 300mm all of a sudden becomes a 200mm, its not quite simple as that. certianly for me i couldnt do without DX for the extra reach i get SOOC but really, its not as significant as the numbers would first indicate.

they have already released a number of TS specialty lens' and the a new macro. there is also updates on the way for the 85/1.4 and 50/1.4. (af-s). rumours abound that a significant lens lineup reshake in the next 18months. i dont think optically there will be much difference, there doesnt need to be, its more about af-s for AF speed and accuracy.

imo thats in preperation of the new gen nikon consumer and prosumer bodies losing their in-body AF motor.
