What's the average life span of an Xti shutter?

I'm looking at some classifieds for used Xti's (just looking, still not sure if it's exactly what I would like to get), and when they say how many actuations are on the camera, for example, 5-6,000, what can a person reasonably expect to be remaining?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Supposedly 50,000 cycles but it can be anywhere between 1 and 99999999999999

Don't forget that the only way to be sure about the number of actuations on an XTi is to send it in to Canon, so take all claims in classifieds with a large grain of salt.

And however less the actuations are will mean nothing if the camera has been handled like shit!!!

Thanks for the further comments. My "used" search has taken me to the classified section of P.O.T.N. Hoping to find a more trustworthy deal there as opposed to ebay or craigslist. I realize it's still a gamble.

Sorry for all the annoying Q's lately.

If it is any comfort, I have bought tons of stuff from POTN and have never had any problems. Same for Fred Miranda.
