Frank ... when you say "CROP", what exactly am I looking at? It's nearly the same size as the original (75%). You might want to take another look at that ... because, I'm not really seeing all that much noise, at this resolution. SOme, admittedly, but it depends a lot on the ISO setting.

Try an 800x600 pixel 100% crop of the section of sky or beach.

Also, what settings were used in this shot? If this is a ISO-100 shot, then yeah ... if you are seeing noise, time to high-tail it to the SONY store.

    Don
I also forgot to tell you I used PS Photo Tools plug-in. I used the Global Sharpening and Color Intensify.
I was told this on another forum.
The noise would have been added when the color intensify tool was used, and would have been made worse when the image was sharpened.
Here is the original image untouched.

Are you saying there is no noise? You always leave me think when you respond to my posts. You are a man of few words. (Most of which I don't understand) LOL

    You wish that was a 16mm lens, Frank. It's a 18-70mm ... LOL

Frank ... I'm not seeing the noise. Someone is being way too critical.

I still believe you would have a lot more fun with a PRIME lens ... such as the 50mm f/1.7 They are available for a reasonable price, Frank. Sharp image ... without having to buy another 17-50mm f/2.8 type lens.
